Matt as told by MaryAnn
Matt is the love of my life. He is a strong compassionate guy who is so dedicated to our family. He is truly the backbone of our family. Matt enjoys spending his time coaching Matthew's sports teams.
Matt's other passion is cooking. Matt doesn't have to be in work until two hour after Matthew goes to school but he still wakes up early each morning and makes us a great hot breakfast of eggs or homemade waffles. He is a real natural in the kitchen, just like his mom. His specialty is Italian. His lasagna is out of this world and so is his eggplant rollatini.
Matt works in full time ministry at our church. He uses his talents in plumbing, electric and construction to keep our church and school up to date, warm and a beautiful place to worship. Matt really loves his job and takes pride in providing for our community.
The church is only 5 minutes from our house so it's so convenient and flexible allowing Matt time to coach Matthew's teams, take him fishing after work, and attend field trips. Matt is an awesome Dad, who puts his family first. His tremendous qualities of being a hard worker, a loving husband, Dad and a good Christian make him a great role model.
His other specialty is soothing crying babies. When I was just dating Matt, we went to visit my sister who just had a newborn, Matt so patiently rocked and soothed her until she peacefully fell back to sleep. We were so impressed because no one else had the magic touch that day. I love that about him.
When Matthew was a baby Matt enjoyed everything about taking care of him, whether it was 2am feedings or changing his diapers. They have had a great relationship from the start and I think that is why they are so close now. I am so proud of the wonderful man he is.

MaryAnn as told by Matt
My wife MaryAnn has a heart of gold. She goes out of her way to help others, especially children. At family parties you will find her feeding a baby, or entertaining a little one. MaryAnn is the anchor of our family. She provides a warm and nurturing home for us. Whether she is decorating our house for the next upcoming holiday or making a pot of soup for our elderly neighbor she is doing it with such love.
She always takes the time to listen with understanding and patience. Everyday when Matthew arrives home from school she takes time to hear about his day and share a snack with him. If Matthew needs help with his homework his Mom is always available. She is an amazing mom!
Not only is MaryAnn committed to our family she is very involved in our church. When Matthew was a baby she helped to start a playgroup for babies and preschoolers, it's still a very popular group for families.
She currently runs a Mother's Group for new moms. This group provides a place where new moms can come to talk and listen, get support and develop friendships.
Whether at home or in our community Maryann provides a welcoming loving environment for everyone.

Matthew, The big brother
When Matthew was born 14 years ago he was 6 weeks premature and was so tiny. He sure isn't tiny anymore, he is a healthy boy who happens to be the tallest boy in his 8th grade class. He is 6'4. He is a sports enthusiast, just like his Dad and I bet you guessed, he loves basketball, baseball and football. He plays on the local town teams and his 8th grade team at school. Matthew is a funny, gentle,smart, kind boy with a big heart. He loves hanging out with his friends at the movies,ice skating rink or at our home. We have a great room downstairs where everyone is welcome. Matthew's friends like hanging out at our house and we are glad they do. They have fun playing Rock Band, or ball on the front lawn. He's a great kid who loves to have fun.
He's the favorite of all his little cousins,and he has over 50 of them. They love hanging out with him and learning about and playing sports with him. You will find him carrying the one too tired to walk, giving piggy back rides or patiently teaching a little one how to tie their shoes.
When he is with his older cousins he has fun shooting hoops, playing video games and hanging out. He has waited his whole life to be a big brother. We can honestly say, he will be such an awesome big brother. His dream will finally come true.
OUR COMMUNITY:
We live in the suburbs about an hour away from NYC. Our home is a spacious but cozy three bedroom ranch with a huge backyard with a swimming pool and plenty of room for playing.
Matt has spent a lot of time fixing up our house. He has completely renovated it since we first bought it. We have a huge recreation/playroom downstairs with plenty of room for lots of toys and fun. He just recently put a brand new kitchen in our home.
Our favorite room is the family room where we can just hang out with each other listening to music or watching movies together. We enjoy keeping our gardens beautiful with colorful flowers and plants. On warmer days you can find us in the backyard hanging out with our friends or family, having a hilarious game of wiffle ball or swimming in our pool.
Our town is filled with over 150 parks and beaches. There is something to do for everyone. Matthew enjoys fishing off the dock with his Dad and golfing. Our school district is one of the top in the state of NY. They have earned many awards in the areas of academics and sports.
Our local church is an extension of our family. We are very involved and have lots of friends there who we enjoy spending time with. They are an awesome group of people of all ages who are a wonderful blessing to our family and are so supportive of our adoption plans.
